PROJECTS
We can only mention highlights to show the spirit of our work. Together with ana yi africa – Brücken nach Afrika e.V. (www.anayiafrica.de) we are working in a partnership for development on eye-level, especially:
Scolarisation of 100 orphans and extremely poor children at 2 public primary-schools, a college and a lycee in Lomé, the capitel of Togo since school-year 2005 / 2006. Since 2007 we are running a school-cantine where the children eat twice a day. The children are participating in international competitions , holding live-chats with Germany for example participating in a STAND-UP against poverty in 2008 and in 2009. The project is supported by donators of the NGO ana yi africa - Brücken nach Afrika e.V., Germany and is managed by the NGO PROMO ORGAH Promotion of Human Organizations in Togo.
In Lomé, the capital, PROMO ORGA H is running a Computer-Center which is financially independent after having received initial support, likewise a washing-center women for women. In Lomé, the capital, PROMO ORGA H has installed a sewing-center which is also for formation - likewise running sustainable only with initial support.
FAIRE TRADE
Even before the beginning of ana yi africa the first Import was made in 2005. We are participating since then in special markets - to make more common the ideas of ana yi africa and to sell the goods from Togo thus creating income and showing another view on Africa. Since October 2008 the Internet-Shop is existing and the trade is increasing.
With an initial support of Microsoft, Germany, the project arrived in the year 2008 in a rural region, became a climate-project by the combination of afforestation and rural development, fight against global warming and the climate change as well as becoming active in fighting against povertyby improving the agricultaral activities for food-security.
Out of this project the idea of the Bank for the Village - the Kopeme Bank was born because we realized the high motivation of the population to become activists in their own struggle against poverty and to stop the desertification and to protect the planet
Out of this project also the idea was born www.jederbaumzählt.de - to offer to everybody the possibility to be engaged in aforestation. This Social Business started ion 2007 and is now sourced out from the internet-shop and has its own existence and profil.
MICRO CREDITS
Micro credits are concrete ways out of poverty . Beginning from 15 Euro to maximally 150 Euro credit sums at present one can already support a woman and her family in Togo to leave the poverty by own power permanently. In January 2007 the first micro credits were disbursed to a group of 15 women - altogether 1,500 Euro; all paid their credit back and are still with us. At the end of 2008 we count 212 micro borrowers in 6 groups, whereby one of it is a rural savings' group with 100 members; the others are developed in the capital Lomé.
